Description

Four pieces of correspondence to Otis Chandler from the Los Angeles City Chief of Police, Edward M. Davis. One is a photocopy. The other two have attachments. One has a note attached to it. The other has a copy of a report to the Police Commission, dated March 8, 1971 and a copy of the Commission's letter to the City Council.

    Four copies of the speech given by Otis Chandler at the Bridging the Gap Luncheon on June 17, 1978. Two of the copies included a one page introduction. Other items in this folder include a copy of the Bridging The Gap program; an August 25, 1978 copy of The Los Angeles Daily Journal Report; seven newspaper clippings, a photocopy of an article with a note attached to it; and thirteen items that consist of ten letters and two attachments, one being a newspaper clipping along with a June 23, 1978 copy of The Los Angeles Daily Journal Report.

Material includes obituary for Davis, who died of a stroke in Montana in 1949 and a 2-pp. "Davis Index -- from 1926 to 1938," with dates and descriptions of stories on the Police Chief.
